Pune Metro: Last Mile Connectivity Gets Boost With New Feeder Bus Service from Ramwadi Metro Station to Kharadi
Pune Metro has launched a new feeder bus service in collaboration with Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML), connecting Ramwadi Station to the World Trade Center and EON IT Park-Kharadi. This service began operations on June 19, 2024, with the primary goal of enhancing daily commuting experiences for residents and employees in these bustling areas.
The initiative aims to streamline travel for passengers heading to popular destinations such as EON IT Park and the World Trade Centre. The feeder buses, which are air-conditioned, operate at 30-minute intervals. They cover a route spanning approximately 7 kilometers from Ramwadi station, which serves as the terminus of the Metro line.
The route of the feeder buses includes key areas such as Wadgaon Sheri, Vimannagar, Chandannagar, and Kharadi Bypass, with a total of at least 20 designated stops along the way. Fares for the service range from Rs 5 to Rs 15 based on the distance traveled, making it accessible and affordable for commuters.
The inauguration of the service was officiated by Sanjay Kolte, Chief Managing Director of PMPML, and was attended by officials including Vinod Kumar Agarwal, Director of System & Operations at Maha Metro. Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of Maha Metro, highlighted the benefits of the service for residents and employees of IT parks, emphasizing the convenient access it provides to Ramwadi Metro station.
