Manjri Kolwadi Town Planning (TP) Scheme in Pune – PMRDA Infra Project
The Manjri Kolwadi Town Planning (TP) Scheme in Pune is a comprehensive initiative aimed at developing and organizing the urban landscape of the Manjri Kolwadi area. It involves planning for residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational zones, alongside essential infrastructure like roads, water supply, sewage systems, parks, and green spaces. This scheme requires cooperation among government authorities, urban planners, developers, and local communities to ensure efficient implementation and adherence to established guidelines. Public participation is essential to ensure the scheme’s success, promoting community involvement and sustainable urban development in Pune.
A town planning scheme is a detailed plan devised by local authorities to guide the development of a designated area. This comprehensive blueprint encompasses various elements including land use zoning, infrastructure design, building regulations, environmental impact assessments, transportation networks, and community involvement. Its objective is to promote orderly and sustainable urban growth while addressing the needs and aspirations of the local community.
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has outlined plans to initiate the Manjri Kh-Kolwadi Town Planning Scheme to facilitate the development of the Inner Ring Road within the PMRDA area. The declaration of intent to prepare this scheme was made under the provisions of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act.
This town planning scheme aims to integrate vital amenities such as a primary health center, sewage treatment plant, fire station, bus stops, a vegetable market, and a shopping center. These schemes are strategically designed to serve as revenue models for the proposed 128-kilometer PMRDA Inner Ring Road. Initially, 26 town planning schemes are planned along the first 32 kilometers of the proposed Pune Ring Road. Crucially, landowners are not required to relocate; instead, they play a central role in the development process. This approach is intended to benefit the entire community by enabling planning authorities to effectively implement infrastructure projects for the collective well-being of residents.
